Algiers, Algeria | August 12th, 2024 — Upon returning to Algeria from the Paris 2024 Olympics, Djamel Sedjati, who secured a bronze medal in the 800 meters, took the opportunity to convey his deep appreciation and outline his ambitions for the future.

Sedjati, while acknowledging that he had room for improvement, expressed his immense pride in contributing to Algeria’s Olympic achievements. Speaking from the Salon of Honor at Algiers’ international airport, he remarked, “We witnessed historic moments at these Olympics. I am profoundly grateful for my colleagues’ victories—two gold medals alongside my bronze. In Paris, we poured our hearts into our performances to elevate the Algerian flag. I am optimistic that the future will bring even greater successes for us.”
In his remarks, Sedjati also paid tribute to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for his steadfast encouragement. “I am truly honored by the President’s messages of support. I would also like to extend my thanks to the Ministry of Defense and the People’s National Army for their unwavering backing and the resources they provided,” he noted, emphasizing the crucial role of their support in his success.
