ALGIERS- In an effort to rejuvenate and modernize vocational training programs, adapting them to the latest technological advancements to streamline student recruitment, Djezzy, a leading mobile telecommunications operator, has entered into a partnership with the Algiers Professional Training and Education Directorate.
The signing ceremony for the agreement took place on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in Algiers. The event was attended by notable figures, including Yacine Merabti, Minister of Training and Professional Education, Kamel Moula, President of CREA, Mokhtar Ben Nili, Director of the Professional Training and Education Directorate for the Algiers province, and Adnane Zeribi, Director of Human Resources at Djezzy.
The convention aims to provide students from the Algiers province with opportunities for paid practical internships and a pre-salary, already regulated, facilitating their integration into the professional world, as highlighted in the joint statement released by both entities.
Under the agreement, specialized training programs encouraging excellence in specific fields will be collaboratively developed. The initiative emphasizes hands-on learning experiences, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the demands of the workforce.
Noteworthy is the commitment demonstrated by Djezzy, as the telecommunications giant has hosted over 1000 vocational apprentices since 2007. These apprentices, spanning more than 12 specialties, have been mentored by Djezzy’s employees.
In their joint statement, Djezzy and the Algiers Professional Training Directorate see this partnership as a pivotal step in their commitment to further develop skills and employability in Algeria. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, fostering a workforce that is equipped with the latest industry-relevant skills.
