Doha Forum: Algerian FM Attaf Advocates Joint Action to Support Palestinian Cause – Video

ALGIERS- During the 3rd session of the Arab Economic and Cooperation Forum with Central Asian Countries and Azerbaijanin Doha, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, emphasized the importance of joint efforts to support the Palestinian cause and to compel the Zionist occupation to cease its aggression against the Gaza Strip.
In his speech, Minister Attaf stressed “the necessity of prioritizing collaborative endeavors among participating countries and peoples in bolstering the Palestinian cause, which stands as one of the most just and enduring issues in the history of the United Nations. This cause must be elevated to the forefront of the international community’s agenda at this critical juncture.”
“The current situation demands our collective voices, positions, and efforts to end Israeli aggression against Gaza, and to facilitate humanitarian aid efforts to alleviate the suffering endured by our Palestinian brothers, including killings, destruction, displacement, and food shortages,” he emphasized.
“At this pivotal moment, it is incumbent upon the international community to fulfill its historical responsibilities towards the Palestinian people by addressing the injustices and hardships they face. This includes honoring promises and commitments, and working towards the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state. Such a state is the ultimate goal of any peace process, and is crucial for achieving a just, sustainable, and definitive resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This resolution is paramount for restoring peace and security in the Middle East,” he added.
Regarding the economic dimension, Minister Attaf affirmed that “this aspect has received significant attention from our countries, as evidenced by the inclusion of economic cooperation in the name of our forum and its participation structure.”
“We aim to enhance and expand cooperation relations to meet the aspirations of our peoples, leveraging the vast potential and capabilities of our nations. This involves maximizing the benefits of integration components through targeted partnerships and fruitful cooperation that benefit all parties,” he explained.
“In this context, it is imperative to address obstacles and challenges hindering trade volume and investment levels. Trade and investment are pivotal pillars upon which sustainable relationships are built, benefiting both parties and all stakeholders involved,” he emphasized.
Regarding the human aspect, Minister Attaf expressed pride in the shared cultural, religious, civilizational, and historical ties among the countries in this forum. These ties, deeply rooted, should be nurtured and promoted to overcome differences, bridge gaps, and promote values, principles, and ideals that contribute to a fairer and more equitable global order.
“This endeavor is crucial for ensuring security, stability, development, and well-being for all without exception,” he affirmed. “Algeria is fully committed to actively participating in this collective effort within this unique framework, which serves as a compelling example of productive dialogue, constructive consultation, targeted coordination, and mutually beneficial cooperation.”
