A New Chapter Begins as Dr. Hamedi Pledges to Lead the Center Toward Greater Regional Integration and Innovation
Algiers, Algeria | April 28th, 2025 — In a ceremony held yesterday, Dr. Zoheir Hamedi officially assumed his new role as Executive Director of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE). The event was presided over by General Mohamed Essa, President of the RCREEE Executive Committee, who delivered an address warmly welcoming Dr. Hamedi and offering his full congratulations and support.
In his speech, General Essa emphasized the critical role of leadership in steering the Center towards achieving its strategic objectives amidst an evolving global energy landscape. “The future of renewable energy and energy efficiency in our region depends largely on visionary leadership and collaborative action,” he stated. He expressed full confidence in Dr. Hamedi’s ability to energize the institution, strengthen regional partnerships, and expand the Center’s influence across the Arab world and Africa.
Taking the podium, Dr. Zoheir Hamedi thanked the Executive Committee and the member states for the trust bestowed upon him. “It is with humility and unwavering commitment that I accept this mission,” he affirmed. Dr. Hamedi pledged to pursue an ambitious agenda aimed at consolidating the Center’s position as a regional catalyst for sustainable energy transformation.
He highlighted his dedication to working through a spirit of team solidarity and institutional synergy, stressing that the success of the Center depends on an inclusive approach that integrates the aspirations and contributions of all member states. “Our journey forward will be guided by innovation, resilience, and a shared vision for a cleaner, more efficient energy future,” he declared.
