Dzair Media City: A Masterpiece in Progress, Minister of Communication Laagab Hails the Project

In a recent statement, Minister of Communication, Mohamed Laagab, lauded the ongoing construction of the new media city, “Dzair Media City,” describing it as a true masterpiece. Speaking during a parliamentary session, Laagab shared insights into the vision for this cutting-edge project, highlighting its commercial character with plans for restaurants, hotels, and various commercial facilities.
A Visionary Media Hub
The new media city is set to become a commercial hub, designed to cater to the diverse needs of media professionals and the public alike. Minister Laagab expressed confidence in the project, emphasizing its unique blend of media facilities alongside commercial amenities, aiming to create a vibrant and dynamic space.
Anticipated Completion Date
Addressing inquiries about the project’s timeline, Laagab expressed optimism, citing the commitment of Minister of Housing, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, to delivering projects within the stipulated timeframe of 30 months. The timeline aligns with the broader national effort to accelerate infrastructure development across Algeria.
Symbolic Inauguration on Independence Day
During the commemoration of the 61st Independence and Youth Day, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune laid the foundation stone for Dzair Media City in Ouled Fayet, west of the capital. Covering an expansive 74 hectares, the media city will encompass areas dedicated to media outlets, studios, an artists’ village, educational and research spaces, and a multi-service zone.
A Multifaceted Media Zone
The media area will house the national media institutions, including the Public Establishment of Algerian Television, Algerian News Agency, Public Establishment of Radio and Television Broadcasting, National Communication, Publishing, and Advertising Establishment, Algerian Radio, and the international channel, AL24.
President Tebboune has underscored the urgency of completing this colossal media structure, aligning it with the latest global standards. The accelerated construction timeline aims to have the media city operational within approximately 27 months, reflecting a commitment to enhancing Algeria’s media landscape and ensuring its competitiveness on the international stage.
As Dzair Media City takes shape, it signifies a bold leap forward in Algeria’s media infrastructure, promising a convergence of technology, commerce, and creativity.
