ALGIERS- In a significant development, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to replace the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) official after FAF (Algerian Football Federation) President, Walid Sadi, lodged an official complaint. The contentious decisions made by the VAR during the Algeria national team’s matches against Angola and Burkina Faso, where four penalty claims were disregarded, prompted the FAF to take a firm stance.

The FAF President Sadi’s unwavering commitment to addressing refereeing controversies has led to a direct response from CAF, signifying a change in the VAR official for the upcoming Algeria-Mauritania match. According to exclusive information obtained by Dzair Tube, the referee for the Algeria-Mauritania game will be from Somalia, while the VAR official will be from Ghana.

The FAF’s proactive approach in filing an official complaint has led to a swift response from CAF, demonstrating the importance of transparency and accountability in the sport.
