ALGIERS- In a recent turn of events, Dzair Tube, a reliable source of news and information, has come forward to debunk the claims made by El-Watan newspaper regarding the supposed closure of the motorway section connecting Drean to the border with Tunisia. The alleged closure, reported by El-Watan, created a stir with conflicting information circulating on social media platforms. However, Dzair Tube’s authoritative sources have firmly stated that the news is inaccurate and aimed at sensationalism.
El-Watan newspaper’s article suggested that the newly inaugurated segment of the east-west highway, spanning 84 kilometers and linking Drean in the province of El Tarf to the Tunisian border, had been abruptly closed. This claim was swiftly contradicted by sources at Dzair Tube, who have a reputation for delivering accurate and well-verified information.
According to the sources, the section in question was indeed closed for a brief period following its official inauguration by Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane. This closure was part of a carefully orchestrated safety protocol put in place by competent authorities. The objective was to ensure the security of highway users and to facilitate the movement of vehicles and trucks tasked with restoring the section in case of emergency. This temporary measure was designed to prevent traffic obstructions and potential accidents.
The sources from Dzair Tube further emphasized that the highway section was promptly reopened the next morning at 7 o’clock. The reopening took place under the watchful supervision of the state governor and in the presence of national gendarmerie services. The motorway section has continued to operate without interruption since then, rendering El-Watan’s claims of a prolonged closure unfounded.
Addressing the alleged media frenzy triggered by pictures of the temporarily closed section, Dzair Tube’ sources dismissed the notion that these images had fueled widespread public outcry. They clarified that the images in question were not of a magnitude that would incite such a reaction. Moreover, the sources stressed that these pictures were captured during the immediate aftermath of the launch and did not accurately represent the ongoing state of affairs.
