ALGIERS- The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, is set to lead a strong delegation to Italy to participate in the OMC-MED ENERGY conference in Rome. This event, organized in collaboration with the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the Eni Enrico Mattei Foundation (FEEM), will take place in Ravenna from May 23 to 25.
Alongside Mohamed Arkab, the conference will feature the participation of Italian Ministers, Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Minister of Environment and Energy Security, and Adolfo Urso, Minister of Development Economy, as well as the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Papanastasiou, and other key players in the energy industry.
This year’s edition of the conference, launched in 1993, will focus on the challenges of energy transition, with a particular emphasis on the Mediterranean region. The Mediterranean has the potential to become a vital bridge between the North and South of the world in the energy sector, and a hub for the creation of new and innovative companies. Monica Spada, the president of the event, highlights this vision, stating that the Mediterranean is a real laboratory for innovation.
The OMC-MED conference program reflects this vision, with a range of themes and topics selected to showcase innovative projects and technologies, start-ups, and young researchers. The conference promises to be a dynamic and engaging event, bringing together energy experts and technicians from across the globe to discuss the future of the industry.
