ALGIERS- The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Lounès Magramane, along with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Sharon Anne Wardle, oversaw the ceremony for the exchange of letters to adopt the amendment to the bilateral memorandum of understanding. This memorandum, signed in Algeria on March 9, 2020, pertains to the opening of the second British international school in Algeria, known as British Campus Algeria.
According to a press release from the supervisory ministry, this amendment signifies a significant step towards President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s vision of prioritizing the teaching of the English language in Algeria. It also aims to strengthen the friendly relations and cooperation between Algeria and the United Kingdom.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from the British Embassy in Algeria, the director of the British international school “British Campus Algeria,” Lotfi Ghazi, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, and the Ministry of National Education, as specified by the same source.
