ALGIERS- Algérie Poste has announced the release of new one-of-a-kind stamps on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of the month of Ramadan, reported Dzair Daily.
These two postage stamps are devoted to traditional Algerian cakes. These are Makrout lassel and Makrout el louz.
Without a doubt, Algerians attach great importance to traditional desserts and sweets. These are an integral part of their culinary culture. In addition, each occasion has its own specific dessert which varies according to the region and the tastes of each. For this, Algerian families continue to preserve their gastronomy of all kinds.
The newly issued postage stamps indeed pay tribute to the richness of the Algerian culinary heritage. Thus, by sending letters or postcards, these typical Algerian traditional cakes will be shared with people from all over the world.
