ALGIERS- In a significant moment for Algeria’s political landscape, the El Moustakbal Front party held its 3rd congress in Ain Benian, Algiers. The congress marked a pivotal juncture as the party prepared for a new phase under the leadership of Fateh Boutbig.

Abdelaziz Belaïd, the outgoing president, addressed the delegates, expressing that the congress served as a crucial moment for the party to continue evolving with strong structures and fresh ideas. Belaïd emphasized the necessity for the party to remain loyal to the principles laid out on November 1st.

In his farewell speech, Belaïd conveyed his confidence in the party’s future, citing the presence of competent leaders across all regions and the people’s trust in them. As he passed on the leadership responsibility, he stressed the importance of the El Moustakbal Front remaining true to its founding principles.

The mantle of leadership was officially bestowed upon Fateh Boutbig, who had been nominated for the position of party president. In his endorsement, Belaïd lauded Boutbig’s organizational skills, expressing assurance that the new leadership would continue in the footsteps of the party’s founders.

Subsequently, the congress delegates unanimously confirmed Fateh Boutbig as the new president of the El Moustakbal Front, signifying a smooth transition of leadership. This change comes as Abdelaziz Belaïd, true to his commitment to the principle of rotation, chose not to seek re-election.
