ALGIERS- The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, is set to participate in the 186th meeting of the Ministerial Conference of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) this Saturday in Vienna, Austria. The conference will focus on matters of mutual interest among the members of the organization.
Following the conference, on Sunday, June 4, the 49th meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) and the 35th OPEC and non-OPEC ministerial meeting will take place, with Mr. Arkab also in attendance, as stated in a press release from the ministry.
The meetings will provide an opportunity for oil ministers to discuss the current state of the international oil market and its short-term development prospects. The ministry has emphasized that these discussions are taking place in a context where oil prices are slightly affected, particularly by the issue of raising the debt ceiling of the United States.
As the Energy Minister, Mr. Arkab’s participation in these meetings is crucial to ensuring that Algeria’s interests are represented and protected. The ministry remains committed to working with OPEC and other oil-producing nations to ensure stability and sustainability in the global oil market.
