Algiers, April 8, 2024 – In a bid to facilitate the reunion of Algerians residing abroad with their families and loved ones during the Eid celebrations, the National Maritime Passenger Transport Company (ENTMV) announced the mobilization of three ships. This initiative, as stated in a press release on Sunday, aims to enable members of the Algerian community abroad to spend Eid in Algeria.
“Mindful of providing the best services to members of the Algerian community residing abroad, and in accordance with the directives of the highest authorities of the country, the company has mobilized three fully-capacity ships to enable a maximum number of Algerians living abroad to spend the Eid festivities in the country with their families and loved ones,” the statement read.
In this context, the vessel “Tassili II” transported 312 passengers and 229 vehicles from Marseille to Algiers.
Similarly, the chartered ship Ariadne transported 623 passengers and 549 vehicles from Marseille to Algiers. Additionally, the vessel “El Djazair II” transported 359 passengers and 256 vehicles from Marseille to Oran, according to the same source.
This initiative underscores the commitment of ENTMV to facilitating the reunion of Algerians living abroad with their families during important occasions such as Eid. By deploying these ships at full capacity, ENTMV aims to ensure that as many Algerians as possible have the opportunity to celebrate Eid in Algeria, fostering stronger familial bonds and cultural connections.
