Establishment of an Annual Presidential Address to Parliament: People’s National Assembly Applauds the Initiative

ALGIERS- In a statement released shortly after the conclusion of the joint congress of the two parliamentary chambers, during which the President delivered a speech, the People’s National Assembly (APN) bureau has commended the initiative. The annual address, which is set to become a tradition, signifies the President’s commitment to updating the nation on the progress of his 54 commitments, providing opportunities to reinforce state directives, and strengthening trust between institutions and citizens.
The People’s National Assembly also considers, as per the statement, the new approaches in state affairs management, coupled with the content of the President’s inaugural address to parliamentarians. The lower house’s bureau appreciates the social measures, economic policies focused on revitalizing businesses and industry, ensuring food security, and diversifying revenue sources beyond hydrocarbons and comprehensive imports.
It emphasizes that the new governance aligns with the sacrifices made by the martyrs of the National Liberation War and adheres to principles of social solidarity and human rights. The commitment to transparency and the regular discourse with parliament underscore a strategic shift towards inclusive governance and socio-economic development.
