ALGIERS- The evacuation operation of members of the national community established in Sudan, wishing to leave this country, began on Tuesday, in application of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
In this context, an Algerian Air Force plane took off from the international airport of Port-Sudan, carrying members of the national community, forced to leave this country because of the tense situation prevailing there.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad announced, Monday in a press release, that “in application of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and within the framework of the measures taken to evacuate the members of the national community in Sudan, following the deplorable crisis that this sisterly country is experiencing, an operation to evacuate members of the national community established in Sudan and wishing to leave this country, along with the staff of the Embassy of Algeria in Khartoum, was launched”, stressing that “all means have been mobilized to ensure the success of the operation”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it was “closely monitoring” the situation in Sudan through a crisis unit set up for this purpose, under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of the Ministry, calling on Algerian nationals in this country to demonstrate vigilance and caution and to stay in constant contact with its services via the toll-free number 00213.21.504.500 and the email address: [email protected].
