A specific example of this cooperation was during President Tebboune’s visit to Constantine. Bengrina had sought and received special permission from Merad to proceed with his campaign activities despite a general prohibition on organizing events that day. “I sought permission from Merad, as it was important to respect the campaign’s strategic planning during Tebboune’s visit. The approval I received underscores the strong, cooperative relationship we share,” Bengrina explained.

Bengrina also addressed his absence from one of Tebboune’s speeches, explaining that he had prior commitments in Khenchela. He noted that Merad understood the situation and supported his decision. “I contacted Merad because I had five scheduled events in Khenchela, which made it impossible for me to attend the candidate’s speech. Merad reassured me, saying, ‘Your presence in Khenchela to continue your work is, in fact, better than being here with us.’ This response reflects our shared understanding and mutual respect,” Bengrina said.

Additionally, Bengrina emphasized his long-standing personal relationship with Merad, describing him as a “brother and friend for the past 30 years.” This personal connection, he asserted, dispels any rumors of tension and reinforces the unity within the campaign.
