These abuses include extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, and severe restrictions on freedom of expression, religion, and the press. He noted that these actions have drawn widespread international condemnation, challenging India’s claims of secularism and democracy.

The international community has increasingly voiced concerns about the deteriorating situation in IIOJK. Human rights organizations, global media, and parliamentarians have criticized India’s actions. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has consistently supported the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and called for a peaceful resolution in accordance with international law and UNSC resolutions.

In his speech on the occasion, Ambassador Gudaro reiterated Pakistan’s call for the international community to hold India accountable. He urged:

• The reversal of all illegal and unilateral measures taken since August 5, 2019.
• An end to widespread human rights abuses and the release of Kashmiri political leaders and activists held arbitrarily.
• A halt to illegal demographic changes in IIOJK and adherence to international legal obligations.
• Unhindered access for international human rights organizations and media to investigate and report on the situation in IIOJK.

Ambassador Gudaro’s remarks during Youm-e-Istehsal underscored Pakistan’s ongoing support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and highlighted the need for continued international engagement to address the Kashmir issue comprehensively.
