ALGIERS- In a statement released on its website this Sunday, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has announced the suspension of youth and women’s football championships for the remainder of the month of Ramadan.
Effective from tomorrow, April 1st, until the third day of Eid, this measure applies to regional leagues, wilaya leagues, as well as the women’s league.
However, the FAF clarifies that this decision does not affect the reserve championships, the Ligue 1, and the LNFA.
Furthermore, the Algerian Football Federation reminds the concerned leagues of their obligation to ensure the smooth running of matches by ensuring the mandatory presence of security, an ambulance, and a doctor. These conditions must be met before the kick-off of any match, regardless of the category.
“The responsibility of the referee and the match commissioner is fully engaged in case of non-compliance with these directives,” assures the FAF.
The decision to suspend youth and women’s football championships during Ramadan reflects the FAF’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of players and officials during this holy month.
