“It is with profound sadness that the president of the Algerian Football Federation, Walid Sadi, and the members of the federal bureau have learned of the passing of the father of former international player Lakhdar Belloumi and the grandfather of current international Mohamed Bachir Belloumi,” the statement began.
In this moment of grief, Sadi extended his sincerest condolences and deepest compassion to Lakhdar Belloumi and his family. “In this painful circumstance, the president of the Federation and the members of his bureau present to Lakhdar Belloumi and his entire family their most sincere condolences and their deepest feelings of compassion. They pray to Almighty God to grant the deceased His holy mercy, to welcome him into His vast paradise, and to give his relatives the strength and patience necessary to overcome this ordeal. ‘To God we belong and to Him we shall return.’”
