ALGIERS– The young goalkeeper Sami Tlemçani (18 years old), summoned in September 2021 to the national A team of Morocco under the orders of Vahid Halilhodzic, has decided to change his sporting nationality. The “Franco-Algero-Moroccan” gaolkeeper of the Chelsea will represent Algeria in the U23s.

The Algerian team has just made a very good move by attracting a very promising goalkeeper Sami Tlemçani who decided to turn his back on the Lions of Atlas to evolve under the tunic of the Fennecs internationally.

In this vein, Dzair Tube sources revealed that the former Algerian Football Federation president, Haj Mohamed Raouraoua was behind Sami Tlemçani’s decision to play for the Greens.

The same source confirmed that Raouraoua contacted the father of the player, Mr. Farouk, to discuss the offer to represent Algeria, before engaging in contacts with the FAF’s current head Djahid Zefizef.

Sami Tlemçani will join the national team that will face Ghana in the final round of the African U-23 Championship qualifiers.
