First meeting of Algerian-French Joint Commission for History, Memory held

ALGIERS-  The Algerian-French Joint Commission for History and Memory held, yesterday Wednesday, its first meeting by videoconference, during which the Algerian side presented a working document in accordance with the basic principles contained in the Algiers declaration, signed on August 27, 2022 between the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, as well as the communiqué of the high-level intergovernmental committee held in Algeria on October 9 and 10, 2022, indicated a press release from the Presidency.

During the meeting, it was agreed to address all issues related to the colonial period, the resistance and the glorious war of liberation.

It was also agreed to continue consultations and contacts in order to develop a future work program, with the identification of the next meetings of the joint committee.
