ALGIERS- The Secretary General of the FLN, Mr. Abdelkrim Benmbarek, presided over the installation ceremony of a reflection committee for the upcoming presidential election scheduled for September, in a ceremony held in Algiers on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Benmbarek affirmed his party’s commitment to actively engage in the preparations for this crucial electoral event, while praising the decision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to advance the election date: “The FLN commends President Tebboune’s decision to hold an early presidential election on September 7th. We will involve ourselves in this process with all possible means. At the FLN, we were not surprised by the decision; on the contrary, we received it with great optimism and we will engage effectively to ensure the success of this important rendezvous,” he declared before party cadres.
The Secretary General of the venerable party also announced the launch of an awareness campaign among its members and citizens about the importance of this electoral deadline, prior to the convocation of the electoral body on June 8th.
“President Tebboune has exercised, through this important decision, one of his prerogatives enshrined in Article 91 of the constitution. This announcement confirms the President’s goodwill and his good intentions towards the citizens, notably by respecting the electoral calendar and implementing his commitments through an ambitious program,” he added.
