ALGIERS- The parliamentary group of the National Liberation Front (FLN) has expressed its appreciation for the content of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s speech delivered on Monday before both chambers of Parliament. The address, deemed “historic,” marked a significant moment as “no President has addressed Parliament since the speech delivered by the late President Houari Boumediene in 1977.”
The FLN parliamentary group lauds the initiative of instituting an annual address to the nation before both chambers of Parliament, considering it worthy of support both in substance and form. This initiative is viewed as part of the realization of the President’s 54 commitments to the Algerian people and the tangible reforms achieved over the past four years.
The President’s acknowledgment of the integrity of parliamentary representatives in both chambers and his pride in the nation’s elected representatives, chosen in clean and transparent elections free from the influence of illicit money, strengthen the conviction of FLN parliamentarians to redouble their efforts and stand alongside the President in building the new Algeria.
The FLN parliamentary group affirms that the President’s relentless efforts to achieve the New Algeria and the state of justice and law have borne fruit. They commend the achievements and progress made over the past four years, manifesting in decisions aimed at establishing a robust economy that frees the country from oil dependency. These decisions include revising investment laws, supporting startup creation, encouraging agricultural production for gradual self-sufficiency, and enhancing social security and purchasing power.
The FLN emphasizes the crucial and effective role of the People’s National Army in developing and safeguarding the country from potential threats and conspiracies. Furthermore, the parliamentary group reiterates its support for President Tebboune’s unwavering commitment to just causes, particularly the Palestinian and Sahrawi issues.
Describing President Tebboune’s speech as a “long-term program document,” the FLN calls upon all stakeholders and dynamic forces in the country to demonstrate will and determination. They urge mobilization behind state institutions to thwart despicable plots targeting Algeria.
