Algiers, Algeria | August 10th, 2024 — Abdelkrim Benmbarek, Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), has issued a fervent call to all sectors of civil society to play an active role in the forthcoming presidential elections set for September 7. Addressing a national meeting with civil society leaders at the Riyadh Hotel in Algiers, Benmbarek highlighted the indispensable role of civil society in ensuring a successful electoral process.
“Civil society represents a leading force in Algeria, given its diverse and experienced members. Its role in ensuring the success of the presidential elections is vital,” Benmbarek stated. He underscored the FLN’s view of civil society as a partner rather than an adversary, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for the common goal.
Benmbarek’s message was clear: civil society’s engagement is essential for the success of the elections. “From today, I urge you all to mobilize and rally behind our candidate, Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” he urged.
He concluded with a strong call to action, appealing to all Algerians to unite in support of the electoral process, highlighting the significance of this democratic event for shaping the nation’s future.
