Algiers, Algeria | July 3rd, 2024 — On Wednesday, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf held a meeting with deputies from the People’s National Assembly (APN) who represent the Algerian community abroad. This gathering is part of a continuing tradition of consultation and coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diaspora’s representatives in Parliament.
The meeting aimed to review the conditions of Algerian citizens living abroad and explore solutions to address their concerns, in alignment with significant measures introduced by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to benefit Algerians residing overseas, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad.
During the discussions, the minister and the parliamentary deputies covered a range of issues, including the modernization of consular services and the organization of the national community. The objective is to empower community members to contribute effectively to Algeria’s economic revival at various levels, the statement added.
This meeting underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with its diaspora and ensuring that the concerns of Algerian expatriates are addressed, thereby fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose in contributing to the nation’s development.
