FM Attaf Holds High-Level Talks with Bangladeshi Foreign Affairs Secretary-General

Algiers, Algeria | February 4th, 2025 — Algeria has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Bangladesh as Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, hosted Md. Jashim Uddin, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, at the ministry’s headquarters on Tuesday.

This high-level meeting was held within the framework of the second session of the bilateral political consultations mechanism, reflecting both nations’ resolve to deepen diplomatic engagement and cooperation. According to an official communiqué, the discussions provided an opportunity to assess the current state of fraternal and cooperative relations between Algeria and Bangladesh and explore avenues to elevate these ties, particularly in the economic sphere.

Minister Attaf and Secretary-General Uddin underscored the necessity of enhancing economic partnerships by fostering trade, investment, and technological collaboration. Both officials agreed on the importance of leveraging mutual economic potential and strengthening commercial exchanges to promote sustainable development.

In addition to economic matters, the meeting also served as a platform for an extensive exchange of views on regional and international issues of common interest. The two dignitaries emphasized the importance of maintaining robust diplomatic coordination and mutual support in international organizations and multilateral forums, reinforcing their shared vision for global stability and cooperation.
