ALGIERS- Under the directive of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Ahmed Attaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, held a productive meeting on Monday with Urška Klakočar Zupančič, the President of the Slovenian National Assembly.
During their encounter, both officials emphasized the exceptional and amicable relations between their respective countries. These relations are evident through frequent high-level engagements, the establishment of parliamentary friendship groups, and the reciprocal opening of diplomatic missions in Ljubljana and Algiers.
Furthermore, they underscored the paramount importance of sustaining economic cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy and renewable energies, artificial intelligence, communications technologies, forestry, and pharmaceuticals.
Expressing gratitude, the President of the Slovenian National Assembly commended Algeria for its comprehensive and balanced approach in combating illegal immigration, an issue that Slovenia primarily faces along the Balkan migration route.
The meeting also highlighted the mutual support and collaboration between Slovenia and Algeria as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council. In this regard, both parties acknowledged their shared responsibility in advocating for “a swift resolution of the conflict and the establishment of peace in the Middle East.”
By enhancing their partnership, Algeria and Slovenia aim to foster stronger ties and contribute to regional stability and prosperity.
