Former Diplomat Rahabi Applauds Algeria’s Stance at UN Amid Gaza Ceasefire Resolution Veto

ALGIERS- In a social media post, former diplomat and minister Abdelaziz Rahabi commended the intervention of Algeria’s Permanent Ambassador to the UN, Amar Bendjama, following the vote on the resolution for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza (presented by Algeria), which was thwarted by the American veto.
“Algeria, through its representative at the United Nations, Ambassador Amar Bendjama, raised its voice loud and clear to defend humanity, dignity, and peace in Palestine. It stands on values upon which the Algerian nation is founded. Algeria also acted on behalf of Arabs and Muslims, who supported it in an exceptional consensus reflecting the credibility of its position and the seriousness of the situation in Gaza, exposed to the genocide committed by the Zionist entity, which benefits from the impunity guaranteed by the United States of America,” wrote Abdelaziz Rahabi on his social media account.
Algeria’s staunch support for Palestine during the recent UN session underscores its unwavering commitment to humanitarian principles and its dedication to upholding the rights of oppressed peoples. Despite the setback of the veto, Algeria’s stance resonated strongly with the international community, garnering widespread recognition for its principled stance in advocating for justice and peace in the region.
