Algeria’s Internal Security Chief General Nacer ‘Abdelkader Haddad’ Strikes Fear in France as the Far-Right Peddles Malicious Lies Against Him

France’s Far-Right Sinks Deeper into the Abyss of Failure, Resorting to Baseless Attacks on Algeria’s Internal Security Chief

Algiers, Algeria | February 11th, 2025 — France’s far-right, bankrupt in both credibility and strategy, has once again revealed its true nature—one akin to a drowning man clinging to a straw, desperately seeking any means to salvage its crumbling influence over Algeria. Having exhausted every underhanded tactic to malign the North African nation and its leadership, the French ultra-nationalists have now fixated on Algeria’s Director of Internal Security, General Abdelkader Haddad, known as “General Nacer,” launching a campaign of defamation riddled with lies and devoid of any factual basis.

The latest barrage of fabrications comes from none other than Nicolas Beau, a notorious mouthpiece of the French far-right, through an article in Mondafrique, where he falsely accuses General Nacer of being responsible for the recent deterioration in Franco-Algerian relations.

The author of this malicious and deceitful article hides behind anonymous sources, spewing outright fabrications in a desperate ploy to frame General Nacer as the mastermind of a so-called campaign led by fabricated Algerian activists in France. This disgraceful piece is not only a brazen lie but also a direct affront to the intelligence of discerning readers. It is imperative to expose France’s deeply entrenched legacy of interference in Algeria’s sovereign affairs, as this latest smear campaign is nothing more than a continuation of its longstanding strategy of manipulation, subversion, and political provocation.

This pathetic attempt at vilification reflects nothing more than France’s deep-seated frustration with Algeria’s refusal to kneel before its former colonizer’s demands. As President Abdelmadjid Tebboune resolutely affirmed, Algeria bows only to God, never to foreign pressure, a principle that continues to haunt the remnants of French colonial arrogance.

The Desperation of a Failing Power

Paris’s ultra-right agitators, embittered by Algeria’s growing geopolitical clout, are resorting to their last, charred cards in a futile bid to sabotage a nation that has not only reclaimed its sovereignty but also refuses to be dictated to by former colonial masters. The smear campaign against General Nacer is merely a desperate ploy to drag the Algerian military institution into an artificial crisis, one crafted to serve France’s revisionist ambitions.

Yet, this reckless maneuver is destined for failure. President Tebboune, with astute diplomacy, has steered Algeria’s foreign policy towards strategic autonomy, shielding it from the pitfalls of emotional or reactionary decisions. Despite Emmanuel Macron’s numerous blunders, his patronizing rhetoric, and France’s repeated transgressions, Algeria has exercised remarkable restraint, prioritizing long-term national interests over petty provocations.

It is, therefore, telling that the French far-right has chosen this moment to target Algeria’s internal security chief. With every failed attempt to destabilize Algeria—from inciting unrest to using the Algerian diaspora in France as a pressure card—their playbook is running thin. Their latest gambit to demonize General Nacer exposes the sheer bankruptcy of their agenda: they have crossed every red line in a last-ditch effort to provoke Algeria into an unnecessary escalation.

A Calculated Campaign of Provocation

Nicolas Beau’s Mondafrique article is not worth the ink it was printed with, brimming as it is with venom and deception. The broader far-right machinery in France, still intoxicated by imperialist delusions, seeks to manufacture tension by scapegoating Algerian officials for a rift that France itself has created.

Algeria, however, is not naïve. The country is well aware that such desperate measures are rooted in France’s internal political turmoil, where right-wing extremists seek to capitalize on anti-Algerian sentiment to galvanize support. But these provocateurs fail to grasp that Algeria is no longer the subjugated colony they once lorded over. It is a sovereign state that dictates its own course, immune to France’s outdated tactics of blackmail and coercion.

Algeria’s Strength: An Unbreakable National Unity

The Algerian people, unwavering in their solidarity with their leadership, stand as an impenetrable fortress against all external plots. France’s attempts to infiltrate and manipulate Algerian affairs—from fueling street unrest to exploiting the diaspora as leverage—have crumbled against the steadfast resilience of the nation’s institutions. The Algerian intelligence and security apparatus has not only thwarted these sinister schemes but has reinforced national cohesion, ensuring that no foreign power can dictate Algeria’s destiny.

If the French far-right believes that its slanderous crusade will weaken Algeria’s resolve, it is sorely mistaken. Algeria remains undeterred, secure in the knowledge that its sovereignty was paid for in the blood of its martyrs—a price too steep for any foreign power to undo. France, instead of engaging in futile provocations, would do well to reconcile with the reality that Algeria is no longer an appendage of its colonial past but an independent force shaping its own future.

Paris’s far-right extremists may continue to spew their falsehoods, but their words carry no weight in the grand scheme of history. Algeria has outgrown its colonial tormentor, and no amount of slander will change that immutable truth.
