France’s Persistent Attack on Algeria: Betrayal, Lies, and Colonial Resentment – Dzair Tube Intro

Algiers, Algeria | December 1st, 2024 — Algeria’s resilience and sovereignty have long been targets for external forces, particularly from former colonial power France. Despite Algeria’s historical liberation from French colonial rule through immense sacrifice and the valiant efforts of its people, figures like Bernard-Henri Lévy and Boualem Sansal continue to perpetuate a campaign of lies, distortion, and unrelenting hostility aimed at undermining the nation’s independence. These individuals, alongside other opportunists, are wielding their positions and influence to attack Algeria’s history, identity, and political stability.

In a recent display of contempt, Bernard-Henri Lévy, a controversial French philosopher, has once again thrust himself into Algeria’s domestic affairs. In an article published in Le Point, Lévy boldly defends his friend Boualem Sansal, who has made a career out of disparaging Algeria and supporting agendas that directly contradict the nation’s sovereignty. Lévy’s article is an orchestrated attempt to shape public opinion and influence political outcomes in favor of his allies. His remarks suggest that the Algerian government is engaged in suppressing free expression, a claim that completely ignores the broader context of Sansal’s well-documented support for foreign interests and his hostile stance toward Algeria’s national unity.

Lévy’s hypocrisy becomes even more apparent when considering his past interventions in Algeria’s internal matters. During the 2019 Hirak, Lévy, with his colonial mindset, attempted to frame the protests as a battle for freedom, conveniently ignoring the fact that the people of Algeria were demanding a return to sovereignty and an end to foreign interference. In addition, his claim that Algeria’s role in mediating between Russia and Ukraine positions the country in the “Eastern camp” is an insult to the Algerian people’s intelligence. This narrative only serves to distract from France’s own deteriorating international position and its growing dependence on its former colonies for geopolitical maneuvering.

Meanwhile, Boualem Sansal, a writer with a notorious reputation for undermining Algeria’s political narrative, continues to serve as an instrument for those who wish to destabilize the country. His recent statements regarding the borders of Algeria and Morocco and his ongoing support for the Zionist entity have only strengthened suspicions about his true loyalties. Sansal, who once renounced his Muslim identity and claimed to be an atheist, has long been a controversial figure, receiving backing from France’s intellectual elite and securing French citizenship after years of service to their interests. His brazen remarks about Algeria’s colonial past and its revolutionary struggle reflect his deep disdain for the very principles that Algeria fought to preserve.

The French establishment’s support for these figures reveals a more insidious agenda: a desire to erode Algeria’s hard-won independence and replace it with a subservient model that aligns with French political and economic interests. The consistent pattern of using Algerian nationals like Sansal to attack the nation’s history and its people is a clear effort to sow discord and perpetuate neo-colonial influence in the region.

Algeria’s response to these provocations has been resolute. The nation remains steadfast in its commitment to sovereignty, justice, and the preservation of its rich cultural heritage. The Algerian people, who have endured so much in their fight for independence, are fully aware of the malicious intentions behind these attacks. They are united in their defense of the nation’s integrity and will not allow figures like Lévy and Sansal to rewrite their history.

This unprovoked assault on Algeria by France’s intellectual and cultural elite must not be ignored. It is essential that the Algerian government, along with the nation’s citizens, continue to expose these opportunistic figures for what they truly are: agents of division, dishonesty, and betrayal. Algeria’s future will not be shaped by foreign intervention or the poisoned pens of those who seek to tarnish its proud legacy. The Algerian people have shown, time and again, that their spirit is indomitable, and no amount of external pressure or lies can change that.
