ALGIERS- Mercenaries play a significant role in the Zionist occupying army’s operations in Gaza, where they are recruited through private recruitment firms worldwide. These mercenaries, hailing from various European and American countries, have been reported to partake in the assassination and torture of Palestinians, often with the tacit approval of their home governments, indicating complicity with the regime.
French outlet “Médiapart” reported that French lawmaker Thomas Bour from the “La France insoumise” party has initiated legal proceedings regarding a case of complicity in torture in Gaza involving a Franco-Zionist citizen. The involvement of dual nationals fighting in the ranks of the Zionist army in war crimes is now undeniable.
The publication of a 45-second video showing Zionist soldiers mistreating bound and blindfolded Palestinian prisoners, accompanied by derogatory remarks in French, has brought further attention to the situation. This video, filmed by a French citizen serving in the occupying army, underscores the humiliation and abuse routinely inflicted upon Palestinian detainees.
In detail, the French website has released the video clip filmed at night, showing five soldiers dressed in Zionist military uniforms dealing with prisoners who were unloaded from a truck with their eyes blindfolded and their hands tied. The man recording can be heard insulting them harshly in French, saying, “Have you seen these scoundrels, my nephew? These are the sons of b*stards.”
The cameraman continues to laugh and mock in French as another prisoner, shirtless, appears, saying, “Look. He has wet himself. I will show you his back. You will laugh. He was tortured to make him speak. Have you seen his back?” In the next scene, the prisoner’s back appears covered in scars.
Following inquiries and information exchanges, it was revealed that Palestinian journalist Younes Al-Tirawi knew the cameraman behind the video, a mercenary from Lyon, France. The French justice system is set to commence an investigation, prompted by Bour’s referral of the case to the Paris prosecutor general and the national prosecutor’s office specializing in counterterrorism and crimes against humanity.
While the Zionist army’s communication authorities remained silent on the matter, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the video’s content, affirming French jurisdiction to investigate crimes committed abroad by French citizens, even in ongoing conflicts.
This situation is facilitated by a 1959 agreement between France and the Zionist regime, allowing Franco-Zionist citizens to enlist in the Zionist army regardless of their place of residence. Despite Bour’s call to immediately suspend this agreement, it requires a one-year notice before any termination.
French media estimates that over 4,000 dual nationals are currently serving in the Zionist army, with mercenaries from various Western, African, and South American countries also participating in the Gaza conflict. For instance, the American mercenary firm “FOG” trains and deploys combat groups to bolster the Zionist occupation forces.
Reports indicate the involvement of approximately 11 mercenary combat groups, each consisting of around 20 trained members from diverse nationalities such as Ukraine, Britain, America, France, and Spain, among others. Spanish newspaper “El Mundo” previously exposed the recruitment of European mercenaries by the Zionist occupying army since October 7th.
These revelations highlight the extensive global reach and support enjoyed by the Zionist regime, particularly from Western nations, despite their purported commitment to human rights. However, international legal mechanisms seem inadequate in addressing these blatant crimes, as they were established by the very Western countries complicit in the genocide of Palestinian civilians.
