Al-Ain, Friendly – In a highly anticipated friendly match at the Hazaa-Bin-Zayed stadium, the Algerian and Egyptian national football teams faced off this Monday in a game that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The showdown, featuring two football powerhouses, ultimately concluded with a 1-1 draw.
The first half of the match proved to be a challenging endeavor for both teams, as they struggled to break the deadlock. However, the game took an unexpected turn in the 26th minute when the Egyptian team saw themselves reduced to ten men, courtesy of a red card issued to defender Mohamed Hany for a foul. Despite efforts from both sides, the score remained level at halftime.
The second half saw the Greens asserting their dominance and almost breaking through the Egyptian defense when Farès Chaibi seemingly found the net in the 54th minute, only to have the goal disallowed for offside. The tide turned in the 61st minute when Egypt managed to score, sending the fans into a frenzy.
As the match entered its final minutes, the Algerian team displayed their resilience, determined not to leave the field defeated. In the 92nd minute of added time, the Greens found the back of the net, leveling the score with an impressive goal from Islam Slimani, securing a draw and sparing their blushes.
