Sonatrach’s climate strategy, as detailed by Hachichi, focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing the integration of renewable energy sources, and developing carbon capture solutions. The approach includes both natural carbon sinks and advanced technological methods to absorb emissions, aiming for a sustainable balance between emission production and capture.
In his remarks, Hachichi underscored the crucial role of natural gas in the global energy transition, pointing out its relatively low environmental impact compared to other fossil fuels. He emphasized natural gas as one of the cleanest hydrocarbon resources, vital for advancing toward cleaner energy solutions while maintaining global energy security.
On the opening day of Gastech, Hachichi shared the stage with industry leaders such as the CEOs of ExxonMobil, ENI, and Baker Hughes in a panel discussion, where the focus was on innovation, sustainability, and the future of energy. These discussions reflected the growing consensus on the role of natural gas and renewable energy in shaping the future of global energy markets.
