General Saïd Chanegriha Honored with Golden Medal of Excellence by the Arab Union for Military Sports

Algiers, Algeria | December 27th, 2024 — In recognition of his unwavering support for military sports and his outstanding leadership, General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, was awarded the Golden Medal of Excellence and the Shield of the Arab Union for Military Sports. The accolade, known as the “Great Leaders” medal, was presented during the closing ceremony of the Third Arab Military Boxing Championship, held at the Military Sports Teams Training and Preparation Center in Ben Aknoun.

A statement from the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that this honor reflects the General’s steadfast dedication to advancing the goals of the Arab Union for Military Sports, encapsulated in its motto: “Brotherhood through Sports.” The Union praised his vision and initiatives that have significantly bolstered the role of sports as a unifying force within the military community across the Arab world.

The medal and shield were received on behalf of General Chanegriha by Major General Mohamed Salah Benbicha, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, during the ceremony.
