ALGIERS- General Saïd Chanegriha, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP) of Algeria, commenced his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday. In his capacity as the representative of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, General Chanegriha participated in the opening ceremony of the second edition of the “World Defense Show,” according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).

The official visit began with General Chanegriha’s attendance at the inauguration of the international defense exhibition, held in the capital city of Riyadh from February 4 to 8, 2024. The opening ceremony was presided over by Prince Khaled bin Salman, the Minister of Defense and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI).

After the formal opening, General Chanegriha, along with the accompanying delegation, toured various pavilions at the exhibition. The focus of the visit on the first day was the stands reserved for the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), showcasing a diverse range of modern military equipment and armament systems, including armored vehicles. General Chanegriha took keen interest in detailed explanations and presentations provided by representatives of SAMI.

The international event, featuring the participation of 66 specialized defense and armament companies, serves as a platform to exhibit cutting-edge military equipment and the latest technological solutions in defense industries.
