Algiers, Algeria | June 6th, 2024 — On Thursday, General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), oversaw a tactical exercise with live ammunition in the fifth military region. The exercise, named “El Azm 2024,” showcased the capabilities and readiness of various ANP units.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), the exercise involved units from the first armored brigade, supported by aviation units and additional technical support teams. The highlight of the event was a coordinated maneuver by paratroopers, demonstrating the integration and operational synergy of different military branches.
The “El Azm 2024” exercise is part of the ANP’s ongoing efforts to enhance combat readiness and operational effectiveness. These exercises are crucial for maintaining high standards of military preparedness and for testing the capabilities of new strategies and equipment under realistic conditions.
