Algiers, Algeria | November 25th, 2024 — General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army (ANP), continued his high-level visit to the State of Kuwait on Monday. This visit underscored the enduring and distinguished relations between the two nations, focusing on deepening military cooperation and addressing shared regional and international challenges.

During his second day in Kuwait, General Chanegriha was received by Sheikh Fahd Youssef Saoud Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior. The meeting was attended by senior Kuwaiti military officials, Algeria’s Ambassador to Kuwait Abdelkader Kacimi El Hassani, and members of the Algerian military delegation. In his remarks, General Chanegriha conveyed his appreciation for the warm reception extended to him and his delegation, expressing confidence that the visit would enhance cooperation. He also delivered greetings from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, reiterating Algeria’s aspiration to elevate military collaboration to unprecedented levels.

Sheikh Fahd Youssef Saoud Al-Sabah reciprocated the sentiments, expressing his satisfaction with the strong understanding and mutual respect characterizing Algerian-Kuwaiti relations. The visit also included a meeting with General-Major Pilot Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces. General Chanegriha’s itinerary included a significant visit to the Mubarak Al-Abdullah Joint Command and Staff College, an esteemed institution in military education. He received an in-depth briefing on the college’s training programs and infrastructure, commending the institution’s excellence and proposing future collaboration in training and expertise exchange between the two armies.
