ALGIERS- General Yahia Ali Oulhadj, the Commander of the National Gendarmerie, expressed appreciation for the media, considering them effective partners in the significant task of ensuring public security, citizen tranquility, and homeland protection.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Lieutenant Colonel Abdelkader Beziou, the Gendarmerie’s communication officer, during a ceremony honoring the press, the top official of the National Gendarmerie stated that journalists have played a vital role in combating various forms of crime. He remarked, “Thanks to you, various forms of crime are fought before they intensify and spread.”
Addressing the journalists, he added, “From this platform, I extend my sincere thanks to you and all your colleagues in the journalism profession, urging you to work hand in hand to preserve the integrity of the martyrs.”
Furthermore, he confirmed that the National Gendarmerie has adopted a communication policy derived from the communication strategy of the Information and Communication Directorate of the General Staff of the People’s National Army. He noted that all doors have been opened to the press, irrespective of their affiliations, to obtain security-related information for enlightening public opinion.
