ALGIERS- As part of commemorating the seventieth anniversary of the outbreak of the November 1st Revolution and recognizing the achievements of national figures, Sara Publishing House in Algeria has released a documentary book titled “Ghlamallah, the Path and the Accomplishments”. This collective work delves into the biography of the President of the High Islamic Council (HCI), Bouabdellah Ghlamallah, tracing his professional, cultural, and intellectual trajectory.
The book includes introductory remarks that outline its purpose and significance, as well as an extensive article by Dr. Lahcen Zeghidi, focusing on Ghlamallah’s role as a mujahid. Additionally, it comprises three chapters: “Presence,” “Interaction,” and “Impact,” each exploring different facets of Ghlamallah’s life and contributions.
The first chapter, titled “Presence,” delves into the active involvement of Bouabdellah Ghlamallah in various international religious institutions. Notable figures featured in this chapter include Dr. Shawki Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt; Dr. Vinyamin Bobov, the Coordinator of the Strategic Vision Group for Russia and the Islamic World; Sheikh Aziz Hasanovic, the Grand Mufti of Croatia and President of its Islamic Community; Dr. Hamid Shahriari, the Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in the Islamic Republic of Iran; Sheikh Abu Bakr Adam, the President of the Supreme Islamic Council for Scholars in Somalia; Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hafiz Al-Tidjani, the leader of the Tijaniyya Sufi order in the Arab Republic of Egypt; and Dr. Kamal Bouzidi, a member of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
Additionally, scholarly articles from universities in Mauritania, Senegal, and Iraq, as well as Algerian universities like the Universities of Oran, Constantine, Batna, Tindouf, Algiers, and Chlef, contribute to the comprehensive coverage of Ghlamallah’s affiliations and interactions within the international religious sphere.
The second chapter, titled “Interaction,” explores the various stages of Dr. Bouabdellah Ghlamallah’s work through 33 articles that highlight his contributions and engagements. These articles, penned by his associates and those who were part of the team involved in several projects, shed light on his multifaceted endeavors and their impacts.
The publication titled “Ghlamallah: the Path and the Achievements” is part of an effort to chronicle the experiences of Algerian personalities who actively participated in the liberation struggle and made significant contributions to the nation-building process. It highlights their roles in shaping an independent Algeria through their leadership positions and involvement in various national initiatives. Dr. Ghlamallah, in particular, has played a pivotal role in these endeavors, demonstrating extensive engagement across a range of projects, notably in the education sector, particularly in the development of Islamic schools. Furthermore, he has spearheaded administrative reforms within the religious affairs domain through several significant initiatives. Moreover, his scholarly contributions, particularly his authored works on philosophical concepts, are recognized for their intellectual depth and significance.
