Government Meeting Focuses on Major Public Projects, Water Supply, and Civil Aviation Security

Algiers, Algeria | June 5th, 2024 — On Wednesday, the Government convened under the leadership of Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui to deliberate on the advancement of major public projects, water supply initiatives, and civil aviation security.
Establishment of National Agency for Major Public Facilities
The Government scrutinized a draft executive decree aimed at establishing and organizing the National Agency for Major Public Facilities (ANGEP). Tasked with overseeing the study, execution, and supervision of significant public projects sanctioned by the President of the Republic, ANGEP seeks to bolster infrastructure development and foster job creation.
Progress of Presidential Directives Implementation
In adherence to the President’s directives concerning water supply, the Government assessed the status of various water-related projects. This encompassed initiatives outlined in the national program for constructing seawater desalination plants, devised to meet escalating demands while accommodating housing schemes and emerging urban hubs.
Enhancing Civil Aviation Security
Furthermore, the Government reviewed a draft executive decree concerning the establishment of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee alongside local airport security committees. This endeavor forms part of a revamped legal and regulatory framework for the civil aviation sector, aimed at bolstering security measures comprehensively.
