Government Meeting: Key Issues Discussed by Cabinet

ALGIERS- Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui chaired a government meeting on Wednesday to review several significant agendas.

The government discussed a draft law concerning civil status, aligning with the directives of the President of the Republic aimed at enhancing public services for citizens and the national community abroad. This includes strengthening the regulatory framework for digitizing civil status records.

Additionally, the Cabinet received a briefing on the progress of digitizing the higher education and scientific research sectors.

Digitization in Higher Education in Focus

During the session, the government particularly assessed advancements in developing management methods for university establishments and modernizing the management of university facilities to improve student living conditions and rationalize public spending in this sector.

Furthermore, the Cabinet received a presentation on the funding status of start-ups, highlighting the qualitative growth in the number of accredited start-ups and incubators.

Start-up Fund: Activity Review

As part of this discussion, the government reviewed the activity report of the Algerian Start-up Fund since its establishment in 2020, along with plans to enhance and develop the financing and support system for investments in innovation.
