ALGIERS- Prime Minister Mr. Nadir Larbaoui chaired a government meeting on Wednesday in Algiers to review draft laws and present reports on various sectors, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office. Here is the full text:
“Prime Minister, Mr. Nadir Larbaoui, chaired a government meeting on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, dedicated to the continued review of the draft law on insurance, aimed at implementing a comprehensive reform of this sector through the establishment of a unified and integrated legal framework that ensures the promotion of governance and organization of this sector, as well as the establishment of new types of insurance and adaptation to the developments in this sector, particularly regarding the consolidation of digital insurance.
The Government also examined the progress made in the implementation of the project to build grain storage silos, which is part of the directives of the President of the Republic regarding the strengthening of national capacities in cereal storage as part of the national food security strategy.
Furthermore, as part of the periodic and continuous monitoring of the implementation of the President’s instructions regarding the acceleration of the digitization process, the Government received a presentation on the digitization of the Transport sector and the assessment of measures taken to improve transport services for travelers, as well as ongoing projects to address various concerns in this area, including the project to establish a public service portal for the Transport sector.
Lastly, the Government reviewed the adaptation of the regulatory framework applicable to classified establishments for environmental protection, as well as a number of measures aimed at strengthening the regulatory framework related to the support and assistance for the financing of the acquisition of collective and individual housing in certain regions of the South and the Highlands.”
