Hamadi discusses with the Malaysian ambassador the strengthening of bilateral cooperation

The Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Yacine Hamadi has received on Thursday the Malaysian Ambassador to Algiers, Mohammad Faizal Razali with whom he has discussed the ways and means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of Tourism and Handicrafts, said a statement from the ministry on Thursday.

“The meeting has made it possible to review the state of bilateral relations as well as the mechanisms likely to promote them”, according to the same source.

“Both sides have expressed satisfaction with the quality of the bilateral and mutually beneficial relationship,” the document said.

Speaking on the occasion, Hamadi has stressed “the importance of working towards the establishment of a bilateral cooperation framework through the development of a memorandum of understanding in the field of tourism and crafts, in particular tourism and hotel training as well as religious tourism, given the interest shown by Malaysians in monuments and places of worship, in addition to the establishment of a real partnership in terms of investment tourism, digitization and crafts,” the ministry added in its statement.

For his part, the Malaysian diplomat has showed his readiness “to develop bilateral relations in the field of tourism and crafts given the considerable assets that Algeria has”, affirming that he was working to “strengthen coordination with a view to draw up a memorandum of understanding and develop tourist mobility between the two countries”.

The two sides have stressed “the need to continue consultations to establish a formal framework for cooperation and encourage working relations between professionals with the aim of achieving common goals,” the statement concluded.
