Haras Elegance Shines in International Show Jumping Competition in Tipaza

Algiers, Algeria | July 12th, 2024 — The Haras Elegance in Sidi Rached, Tipaza, hosted a highly successful international show jumping competition from July 3rd to July 6th. With participation from seven countries, the event was lauded by competitors and foreign officials alike for its exceptional organization and the high level of competition.

Algerian Rider Mesrati Mohamed Fares: “The Organization Was Up to the Event”

Algerian rider Mesrati Mohamed Fares, a member of the national elite team “JST,” expressed immense satisfaction with his performance in the championship. In an interview with Dzair Tube, he stated, “Thanks to Allah and my hard work, I deservedly secured first place. Despite the challenging course, I outperformed everyone.” With 40 years of experience, he attributed his success to thorough preparation and focus. Reflecting on the event’s organization, Mesrati noted, “The organization was up to the event; we found all the necessary conditions at Haras Elegance.”

The Algerian Equestrian Federation’s Technical Director Mohamed Djilali Boumehediou: “World-Class Facilities and Track”

The Algerian Equestrian Federation’s Technical Director, Mohamed Djilali Boumehediou, praised the event, highlighting the world-class facilities at Haras Elegance. “We are here in Tipaza at Haras Elegance for the second international show jumping competition, following the first in Oran last week,” he said. “This venue has excellent equipment and a top-notch track, suitable for this level of competition. The competition level was high, and we can rival countries with better conditions than ours.” Boumehediou also commended the Algerian judges, who, along with foreign judges from Tunisia and Egypt, ensured fair and high-quality adjudication. “Our Algerian judges demonstrated high competence,” he concluded.

Aimane Dammag, a member of the Tunisian Equestrian Federation, expressed admiration for the warm reception the Tunisian delegation received in Algeria, both in Oran and Tipaza. “We thank our Algerian brothers in Oran and Tipaza for their excellent organization and hospitality. We were truly impressed by what we found here and never felt like we were in a different country. This is what sports are all about – bringing the Algerian and Tunisian people closer together,” he said. He also appreciated the excellent organization and sportsmanship displayed throughout the event.

International Rider Mahni Mohamed: “I Was Fortunate to Participate, and Haras Elegance is One of the Best Venues in Algeria”

International rider Mahni Mohamed praised the superb conditions at Haras Elegance, emphasizing the need for more such competitions in Algeria to elevate the sport. “I was fortunate to participate in this event, which was held in excellent conditions. The venue is one of the best in Algeria, meeting international standards,” he said. “We need more of these competitions in Algeria to support this noble sport, and more Algerians should get involved in equestrian sports.” He concluded, “These competitions will continue to raise the level of the sport, and we hope to reach even greater heights.”

Tunisian Rider Mohamed Mekrani: “The Competition Was Tough, and the Organization Was Excellent”

Tunisian rider Mohamed Mekrani acknowledged the high level of competition and excellent organization of the event. “I worked hard to honor Tunisian equestrian sports. The competition was tough, and the organization was excellent. Long live Tunisia and long live Algeria,” he said in remarks to Dzair Tube.

Tipaza Youth and Sports Director Sofiane Ountaghar: “We Are Honored to Host This International Event for the First Time”

Sofiane Ountaghar, the Director of Youth and Sports for Tipaza, expressed pride in the successful hosting of this international show jumping competition. “We are honored to host this international event for the first time, and we hope it won’t be the last,” he said. “We have agreed with the Algerian Equestrian Federation to schedule several more competitions in the future.” He thanked the Governor of Tipaza for his support, as well as all security personnel and economic partners who assisted in making the event a success. “Sports are the best ambassadors for promoting tourism and the history of our nation, especially as this event coincided with July 5th, marking Independence and Youth Day, a historic and joyful day for all Algerians,” Ountaghar concluded.
