ALGIERS- The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, announced on Thursday in Algiers that his department has taken the necessary steps, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to recruit holders of magister and doctorate degrees. This move aims to absorb the large number of graduates and address the pressing need for qualified professionals in various fields.

During a plenary session at the People’s National Assembly (APN), Mr. Baddari explained that the recruitment of magister and doctorate holders would be carried out through various formulas, including recruitment on title to posts as assistant professors (category B), recruitment to permanent research positions, or in the form of teaching or research contracts.

The minister emphasized that the recruitment proposals for this category would be implemented during the 2023 financial year, following the necessary steps taken with the relevant authorities. This move is expected to achieve the desired results and absorb a large number of graduates.

It is worth noting that the recruitment of magister and doctorate holders to positions in university posts was approved during the Council of Ministers on May 14. In early May, Kamel Baddari announced that his ministry had allocated 5,310 budget posts to the recruitment of holders of doctorate and magister degrees, including 2,555 posts for class +B+ assistant teachers, 601 for researchers at research center level, and 556 returning scholars.

This initiative is a significant step towards addressing the shortage of qualified professionals in various fields and providing opportunities for graduates to utilize their skills and knowledge. The Minister’s efforts to collaborate with relevant authorities and implement effective recruitment procedures demonstrate a commitment to promoting higher education and scientific research in Algeria.
