ALGIERS- Algerian Holding ACS, specializing in chemical products, announced a significant partnership agreement with Senegalese company PMCE on Wednesday. According to the statement released by ACS, the agreement outlines PMCE’s role in distributing products from the Algerian holding’s subsidiaries in Senegal and several neighboring African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, Mauritania, Benin, and Mali.

The scope of the agreement encompasses the distribution of various products such as glass and abrasive materials, plastics and rubber, medical equipment and personal hygiene products, paints, as well as paper and cardboard.

Prospects for Production Units in Senegal

Signed by Mr. Samir Yahyaoui, CEO of the Algerian Holding, and Mr. Babacar Diaye, CEO of PMCE, the agreement aims, in its initial phase, to boost the export rate. The partnership is expected to expand by the end of 2024, involving the establishment of production units, particularly in the fields of fats and detergents. This expansion will be in collaboration with “Sahel Chemical Specialities,” a subsidiary of PMCE Senegal.

The agreement coincides with the opening of permanent exhibitions in Senegal and Mauritania, mandated by the respective authorities. These exhibitions, featuring the holding and its branches, signify the growing interest and support from the higher authorities.

Senegal’s market is deemed a strategic opportunity for exporting the holding’s products, acknowledged by the Senegalese partner as among the best in terms of quality and pricing. The accord marks a significant step in the regional expansion and collaboration between the two entities, fostering economic ties and growth prospects in West Africa.
