“Huawei ICT Competition”: Algeria snatches 1st world prize

ALGIERS- Algerian students have emerged victorious in the prestigious “Huawei ICT Competition”, held in Shenzhen, China.

The competition, which saw participation from 120,000 students across 74 countries and 2,000 universities, witnessed the Algerian team clinching the first prize in “CLOUD” and “NETWORK” categories, and the second prize in “COMPUTING”.

The 15-member team from Algeria outperformed 28 countries and 50 teams to secure the top spot in Africa. The award ceremony was attended by senior officials from Huawei and a delegation representing the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Badari, congratulated the Algerian students on their remarkable achievement and expressed his pride in their performance.
