ALGIERS- In a significant move towards enhancing education and technological development, Huawei Telecommunications Algeria has signed a cooperation agreement with 12 universities in southern Algeria. The signing ceremony took place yesterday in Ouargla and aimed to strengthen ties between the telecommunications industry and academia in the region.
The cooperation agreement benefits institutions in Ouargla, Biskra, El-Oued, Adrar, Tamanrasset, Béchar, Laghouat, Ghardaïa, El-Bayadh, Nâama, Aflou, and Tindouf. The event was attended by officials from Huawei, university rectors, and representatives from various public economic organizations and companies.
Liu Cheng Cheng, the Vice President and General Manager of Huawei Telecommunications Algeria, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating that Huawei, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has implemented a training program aimed at enhancing students’ knowledge in communication technologies. He noted that since 2018, over 7,000 students from various Algerian universities have benefited from training internships in this field.
