ALGIERS- During his participation in the OMC Med Energy conference and exhibition in Ravenna, Italy, Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, engaged in a conversation with Claudio Descalzi, the CEO of Italian company ENI, according to a press release from the ministry.
The press release highlights that the discussions centered around ENI’s current and future activities in Algeria, specifically its involvement in hydrocarbon development, including exploration, and strategies for enhancing the partnership with Sonatrach.
In the context of strengthening the collaboration between Sonatrach and ENI, the two parties particularly addressed the offshore exploitation of hydrocarbons, renewable energies, hydrogen, and the reduction of carbon emissions.
During the conversation, ENI CEO Mr. Descalzi expressed his utmost satisfaction with the quality of the partnership between Eni and Sonatrach. Additionally, Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Mr. Gilberto Bechetto Frattin, acknowledged Algeria’s efforts in ensuring energy security in the region, particularly in the realm of natural gas supply.
