Inauguration of Tanzanian Embassy in Algeria Marks 60 Years of Bilateral Relations

ALGIERS- The historical and enduring bond between Algeria and Tanzania reached a momentous milestone as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, and his Tanzanian counterpart, Mrs. Stergomena Tax, jointly inaugurated the official headquarters of the Tanzanian Embassy in Algiers on Wednesday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mrs. Stergomena Tax emphasized the longstanding diplomatic relationship between the two nations, stating, “The official inauguration of the embassy reflects the depth of the bilateral relations between the two countries, which have lasted for 60 years.” The Tanzanian diplomat paid a heartfelt tribute to the former Algerian ambassador to Tanzania, Mr. Nourredine Djoudi, recognizing his pivotal role in establishing and strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations during his tenure as Algeria’s first ambassador to Tanzania.
The occasion also witnessed the signing of several significant partnership agreements between Algeria and Tanzania. Mrs. Tax expressed her enthusiasm to continue and deepen cooperation in priority areas for both nations, affirming that implementing the partnership agreements and conventions signed during the ceremony would be instrumental in achieving their shared goals.
Mr. Ahmed Attaf, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, echoed Mrs. Tax’ sentiments and hailed the “positive results” of the 5th session of the joint Algerian-Tanzanian cooperation commission. He credited these achievements to the unwavering commitment of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria and President Samia Suluhu of Tanzania, who have consistently prioritized strengthening bilateral ties and fostering cooperation across various sectors.
Both ministers paid glowing tributes to Mr. Noureddine Djoudi, who served as the Algerian Ambassador to Tanzania, acknowledging his instrumental role in laying the foundation for the enduring friendship between Algeria and Tanzania. The embassy’s inauguration stands as a testament to the shared vision of both nations in promoting peace, prosperity, and mutual understanding.
